How can I get by public transportation from Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, NY to Glendale, Queens this Sunday?
I tried using HOTSTOP but it would not accept a glendale address as a destination & I need some way of planning my route & knowing the approximate total travel time - which I expect to be really long. If anyone can help, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

You should check out Trip123's transit trip planner as it plans a trip from any origin address to a destination address in the NYC metro area with arrival and "leave" times. I put in the addresses for Roayl Pizza (705 Brighton Beach Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11235) in Brighton Beach and the Atlas Park Mall (8000 Cooper Avenue at 80th Street, Glendale, NY 11385) in Glendale and got a Total Trip Time of 1 hour and 41 minutes. The trip used the B and 7 subway lines and the Q29 Bus in Glendale. To find your best route use the trip planner with your origin and destination address and by day and time that you want to travel. What will be the fastest and best way for this? What will be the fastest and best way for this? I tried Metro.net. all routes seemed to take long time. And it seems, MetroLink does not run on memorial day.

Antelope Valley Line on Metrolink (get off at Newhall and take the bus to Valencia). Edit: sorry... if Metrolink isn't running then that won't work.

30 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes. I hope you enjoy it.

Driving: 20 min/no traffic, 35 min/traffic. Walking: 2 hours/no traffic, 3 hours/traffic.

By Car: Depending on where in Glendale (central vs. hills, etc.), but if you are near a freeway, should be about 10 minutes in good traffic. Just go south on either the 5 (or the 2 to the 5) to the 110 south and exit on Hill (left lane) and you're there. No tube (subway) in Glendale. By bus? Not sure, probably 45 minutes to an hour.

The 794 Rapid goes from Glendale to Chinatown in 15 to 30 minutes. The 84 and 81 each should take between 30 minutes and an hour. You can find bus schedules and a route planner at http://www.metro.net Driving-wise, I'd agree with the 15 or 20 minute estimate. Of course, as you probably know, traffic in L.A. can make even the shortest drive ridiculously long.

It's not very far by car, I would say 15 minutes in no traffic. (in traffic it could be 35 minutes or so
