About Foreign Language Teachers/Tutors

Foreign Language Teachers/Tutors...?
Is this a good idea?: -If i organized some type of after school class for me and my fellow IB kids (and other students interested) that would teach us a foreign language? (besides the two offered at our school.) - I was thinking Japanese would be good, since so many people at my school are so interested in learning it, but don't want to do it alone. - I was thinking about finding a teacher/tutor that could teach a med-large group of people (approx. 15-40+ people). - If the person charges a lot of money for it, maybe I could organize a fundraiser or ask the person to make a reduced payment for a large group of people... *so pretty much, tell me if this is a good idea, and more specifically, if it's possible. **(IF YOU LIVE IN ARIZONA AND ARE INTERESTED IN TEACHING A BUNCH OF IB/HONORS STUDENTS JAPANESE AFTER SCHOOL, THEN PLEASE LEAVE YOUR INFO/QUALIFICATIONS!) *you DON'T need to be Japanese.(i almost prefer a non-japanese teacher, it's somewhat more comfortable because they know how it feels to be in our shoes, but if they were japanese, we'd feel more authentic, like accent wise... So it doesn't matter.) *you DO need to be : -qualified. (ie. professional foreign language teacher/tutor. NOT someone who knows it, but cant really explain/teach it.) -patient/understanding. (IB/Honors kids can be a pain at times, but we learn pretty fast. An you might get some "otaku", which can get annoying at times...) -willing to travel to Glendale, AZ on a weekly basis. (maybe 2-3 times a week?) -relatively affordable. (if you charge by hour, maybe $10 per student(30) for 2 hours a day, 3 times a week, for a semester (18 weeks),then that would equal... ($10)(30)(2)(3)(18)= $32,400 ($15)(30)(2)(3)(18)= $48,600 *but if it was cheaper, say $10, then you'd attract more people...BUT we can talk about that later...) ** for more info if you're interested, e-mail me with your info! and then we can contact you/your organization and set something up with my school. (:D) thanks for reading!

Good question and great idea; too bad you guys aren't in San Francisco or I'd volunteer myself. Unfortunately, however, I doubt that Yahoo! Answers is really the place to find someone for such a specialized task. Have you considered posting this at Craigslist.com? You'd probably get a very healthy response from that. Good lucka

About Should our government accept "letters of refusal" for deportee's who have felony convictions

Should our government accept "letters of refusal" for deportee's who have felony convictions?
Should the U.S. start forbidding these embassy's, diplomats etc... from stopping deportations? Is five years enough penalty for allowing convicted felons to remain here on our streets by giving them false documentation? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I.C.E. News Release July 28, 2009 Ex-Armenian diplomat among 5 charged in scheme to allow illegal immigrants to stay in U.S. Defendants accused of selling documents to help convicted felons avoid deportation LOS ANGELES - The former Armenian Consul in Los Angeles and a Beverly Hills immigration attorney are among five people arrested last night and this morning on federal criminal charges following an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) into allegations they obtained and sold to illegal aliens documents called "letters of refusal," which allowed those illegal aliens to avoid deportation. Issued by embassies and consulates, a letter of refusal states that a country will not issue a travel document for a particular individual, essentially blocking that person's deportation to that nation. According to the criminal charges that led to this week's arrests, the five defendants sold official letters of refusal from the Armenian consulate for as much as $35,000. Those letters prevented the removal of the Armenian nationals to Armenia. The investigation revealed that many of those who purchased the letters were Armenian nationals facing deportation after being convicted in the United States of felony offenses. The defendants, who are named in four separate criminal complaints, are accused of obstructing proceedings before a department or agency, namely ICE. All five were taken into custody by ICE during the last 24 hours and are expected to make their initial appearances this afternoon in U. S. District Court in downtown Los Angeles. Those charged are: •Norair Ghalumian, 52, of Burbank, Calif., the Armenian Consul in Los Angeles from 1999 through 2003, who was arrested this morning; •Hakop Hovanesyan, 54, of Glendale, Calif., a former employee at the Armenian Consulate in Los Angeles and current operator of Regency Travel in Glendale, who was arrested last night; •Margarita Mkrtchyan, 41, of Glendale, Calif., an immigration attorney for Inman and Associates law firm in Beverly Hills, Calif., who was arrested last night; •Oganes Nardos, 36, of Valencia, Calif., a substance abuse counselor, who was arrested this morning; and •Elvis Madatyan, 47, of Glendale, Calif, who was arrested this morning. The charge of obstructing ICE proceedings carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. accept from convicted felons, wow, you advocates are for any crimes illegal aliens do.

YES!

Yep!...you asked 'accept', but doesn't mean they have to follow through. It's up to the Government.
3 :
No "letters of refusal" should ever be allowed. If the person is a citizen or national of a country, they have to be allowed back in regardless of any circumstances. Likewise, any sort of difficulty or events in a person's country of citizenship should never be considered a bar to return of any of its citizens who have violated immigration or other laws of a host country. This nonsense over, e.g. Somalia, has to end. They can be flown into the country and debark from the plane, or taken to any land border for reentry to their country of citizenship. Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators or for criminal aliens.

Yes, Yep
5 :
The United States should never allow other countries to interfere in deportation of illegal aliens.
6 :
put their butts on a plane-- they can argue the refusal at the airport after the criminal is back in their own country !!! they can live at the baggage carousal until their government accepts them !!!
7 :
Letters of refusal are PROOF that these countries are actively engaged in breaking Americas immigration laws. It's called invasion people. Read the book by Michelle Malkin.

About Best and safest local to move with a child to LA for acting

Best and safest local to move with a child to LA for acting?
I'm going to visit LA area again to check out where to live to study Acting and get into that industry. What's the best local to auditions and classes and safest place to raise a child? I traveled to Burbank in Jan. 2007. Burbank/Glendale was OK, I wonder if it's too hot in the Summer. I really like West LA, zip code 90024 has really good schools but is so expensive. I will want to rent a 1 bdrm no more than $1100 per month.

The Oakwood Apartments in Burbank is the housing of choice for out-of-towners trying to make the Big Time. It is close to all the studios and has a constant turnover. And yes, the Valley is hot.

pet store. maybe a friend. research some pet stores like Petco and places like that
4 :
If you want a nice small turtle, you may want to consider a musk or a mud turtle, they are much heartier than a red eared slider, which is what most places have. You can get these and have them sent to you and a great place to read about them and perhaps find one woud be on turteexchange.com, lots and lots of great information is on there and also good people that care very much about their turtles, there is a place on there where you can also buy and adopt them

About Can a hotel hold your luggage if you have not made reservations

Can a hotel hold your luggage if you have not made reservations?
I am traveling from the Los Angeles Airport to my hotel in Glendale by bus. I am visiting Santa Monica on the way for a couple hours, but I am not planning to stay there. I'm not about to lug around my suitcase all afternoon, but I don't know what else to do with it. Can you just stop by a hotel and ask if they have a luggage holding service? What is the likelihood of them actually questioning whether or not you made reservations? Any other ideas?

i'm not understanding your question why haven't you made reservations if you don't you could find your hotel already booked and no rooms so you want go all way to glendale first find hotel then go all the way back to Santa Monica then go all way back to Glendale? do you know how far those cities are from each other quite a distance about 20 miles
4 :
Ask yourself why they would want to be responsible for your luggage if you're not staying there.
